KING IS DEAD - OUT NOW

It’s been a busy week, but I’ve finally finished all the main art for this project, which seems like as good a time as any to count this as the official V1.0 release of the game.

To share some analytics so far: The game had about 20 downloads prior to the launch of the Trans Rights Texas Bundle and it’s had about 380 downloads since then, which is pretty mind blowing! But that’s also been a big motivator for me to finish the work, so that there’s a higher chance that people who continue to donate to the bundle over the next month will get the finished version of the game.

If you’ve already downloaded the game, then I’d encourage you to download it again, as the the release version now includes full color character art by my wonderful friend KILLTHESCRIBE, as well as a map of Eryri (the game’s setting), a map of Prydein (the world), and a celtic world tree. The full version also includes a paper texture background, through this does increase the file size a bit.

The only thing really missing at this point is some better cover art. The current image of the Ogwen Valley was really supposed to be the back cover art, but I ran out of time before needing to publish the game. I’ll see how I feel next week and may include one more update. But that will be less crucial. (The only other updates beyond that will be if someone finds some kind of ‘game breaking bug’).

All in all, I’m pleased with how this project turned out. I’d love to hear your feedback if you get the chance to play it, of course.
